The Foreign Correspondents' Club of Thailand has been a meeting place for journalists, diplomats and anyone with a stake in the region since 1957. It runs events almost every day, from political panels to jazz nights, and sends its members a weekly newsletter, The Bulletin.
Where it started
The club's old website had been left without anyone looking after it. Problems had built up on the legacy system, and the one thing the team could still do reliably was send the newsletter. Past issues lived only in inboxes, and the club no longer had full control of its own domain.
What we did
- A complete redesign. A new site built around what members and visitors come for: what's on, the club's news, and how to join.
- A brand system, applied everywhere. We set the club's guidelines for colour and type, then carried them through every page, so the site feels like one club rather than a collection of templates.
- A CMS the office uses daily. The office team adds new events every day themselves, without waiting for a developer.
- An archive worth browsing. A newsletter page and a full archive of The Bulletin (86 issues), alongside 185 past events, so readers can explore the club's history instead of losing it to email.
- Clean-up and recovery. We fixed the problems left behind by the old system, recovered the club's domain, and pointed out services the club was still paying for on the legacy setup without realising.

Working together
We worked directly with the club's president and its office team from the first brief to launch. Decisions were made quickly, and the people who run the site day to day shaped how it works.

The results so far
From Google Analytics, 31 August to 27 September 2026:
- 7,700 people visited the site, 7,500 of them for the first time.
- 2,200 sessions came from Google search, and 93 more from Bing.
- 73 visits were referred by ChatGPT, a sign the club is being found through AI assistants as well as search.
- The events page is one of the most visited on the site, viewed 1,400 times in the period.
- In the most recent week, active users were up 21.6% on the week before.
What's next
We continue to support the club with SEO and AEO (answer-engine optimisation), so its events and journalism keep turning up wherever people look, from Google to ChatGPT.
