Key takeaways

  • Price follows scope: how many page types, how much custom functionality, and who writes the content.
  • A good quote is fixed, itemised and agreed before work starts. Hourly “estimates” move.
  • At SMBee, a Launch Site starts from SGD 8,000 and a Custom Website Build from SGD 25,000, and you own everything from day one.

Ask five agencies what a website costs and you'll get five answers that are hard to compare. The price isn't hidden. Most quotes just describe different things. Here's how to read them, and how to decide what you actually need.

The short answer

Published price guides put most professional websites in Singapore between SGD 5,500 and SGD 20,000 in 2026, with simple template sites from around SGD 1,500 and complex custom builds past SGD 50,000 (GoDaddy's 2026 guide). A custom-designed site built around how you sell is a different product from a template you fill in yourself, and it's priced that way.

What actually drives the price

Four things move the number more than anything else:

  1. Page types, not page count. Ten service pages built on one layout cost far less than five pages that each need their own design.
  2. Custom functionality. Lead capture that routes to your CRM, booking, calculators, member areas.
  3. Content. Who writes it, and whether it's ready on time. Late content is the most common cause of a slipped launch.
  4. Seniority. Who's actually doing the strategy and design, not just who's in the pitch meeting.

What a fixed quote should include

If a proposal doesn't answer these in writing, ask before you sign: the exact pages and features in scope; the timeline with a design sign-off date; who owns the code, domain and accounts; what post-launch support is included; and what counts as a change request.

Ownership matters more than most founders expect. If the agency holds your domain or hosting account, leaving them gets expensive.

Template vs custom: when each makes sense

A template is the right call when you're validating an idea, your sales happen mostly offline, and the site just needs to exist. Custom earns its cost when the website is part of how you sell: it has to capture and qualify leads, rank for competitive searches, or run a process your team does by hand today.

Common questions

How long does a custom website take?

At SMBee, a Launch Site takes 3–4 weeks and a Custom Website Build 6–10 weeks. Design is locked by week 2 and the build is complete by week 6–8.

Is SEO included?

Every build is mobile-first with SEO foundations from the start. Ongoing SEO and content sit in the Growth monthly plan.
